Packed with Style and Space for People, Adventures, and Cargo!

A standout in what auto buffs call the “small crossover SUV segment,” the sleek 2024 Chevy Equinox AWD LTD from Airport Chevy gets high marks from Car & Driver for “spry driving demeanor, efficient for an SUV, plenty of space for people and cargo.”

And this model builds on the top-quality reputation for its 2024 version. According to car bible J.D. Powers, that was the highest-ranked compact SUV in initial and long-term quality, a mighty recommendation for drivers looking for a ride that holds up and has few problems.

Edmunds is also a big fan, writing that “Equinox does the SUV thing well. There’s plenty of legroom all around, and cargo space is definitely better than what you’ll find in a comparably priced sedan or hatchback. It also delivers a smooth, comfortable ride, and the seats are shaped for all-day comfort. We also like that the Equinox is one of the few entries in the class that offer an upgraded engine.”

The base model starts at around $30,000, and two turbocharged engines are available — a 1.5-liter and a smooth and gutsy 2.0-liter—either one can be paired with front- or all-wheel drive. Lots of driver-assistance features are standard on all models, including automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, and automatic high-beam headlamps. Adaptive cruise control is now included in the optional Driver Confidence II package.

Also available on LS, LT and Premier models, Switchable All-Wheel Drive enhances traction and control on slippery or snow-covered roads — a big plus for those icy Southern Oregon winters and early spring adventuring.

According to the experts, the midrange Equinox LT AWD is the best value in its class, starting at a bit over $30,000, with plenty of features that make it worth the upgrade over the LS. The LT adds an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, SiriusXM satellite radio, high-intensity discharge headlamps, tinted rear windows, body-colored exterior mirror caps, and chrome trim around the side windows.

On long drives or just the morning commute, it offers a lot of comfort for front-seat and read-seat passengers, including a 60/40 split-folding rear seat that folds flat to create almost 70 cubic feet of cargo space. There’s also a hidden storage compartment under the rear floor – ideal for stowing and organizing camping gear, travel necessities and school supplies.

A 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, along with Bluetooth phone and audio streaming, USB connectivity, and an auxiliary input jack. Standard 4G LTE–powered onboard Wi-Fi makes the Equinox one of the best-connected crossovers.

With so many practical goodies, the Equinox is also a beauty, sporting a striking exterior that combines style and function with aerodynamic sculpting and accents like LED daytime running lamps. For those wanting the ultimate “cool car” reaction, the Midnight Edition package blacks out just about everything that can be blacked out, including the Chevy bow-tie logos. Expect jet-black perforated leather trim on seats, 19-inch gloss black aluminum wheels, a stunning black grille, front fog lights with black bezel surrounds and an overall sexy upgrade to what is already a handsome SUV.
