Rogue Valley’s Best Keto Meals – Find Em Here!

Best Keto Spots in the Valley

“Keto” is short for “Ketogenic” which refers to ketone bodies that are released when you eat a low carbohydrate diet. With not enough glucose present in your body, fats are used to fuel your system to create energy and encourage weight loss. Before starting a strict diet of any kind, it is a good idea to check with your Doctor first. If you have kidney issues or gall stones, you may need to avoid going ketogenic and ease into a higher protein regimen.

But for the rest of us who have been eating too many breads, cakes, cereals and donuts, focusing on tasty proteins and healthy fats is a positive change without ill effects. But where can you go eat and stay true to a higher protein nutritional plan? Check out these places to get your Keto on in the Rogue Valley:

Common Block Brewing Company

Try their Ale Marinated Flank Steak for dinner or Grilled Salmon and Spinach Salad at lunchtime. Want to share a plate? We suggest the Fried Cheese Curds or Sweet Potato Fries. If you have a hankering for a burger, get it wrapped in lettuce or with the gluten-free bun at this establishment.

Back Porch Bar & Grill in Jacksonville

Nothing like some Barbecue Pork Ribs or Pulled Pork to keep your protein intake high and carbs low. There are other meaty options too and you have a choice of guacamole with your proteins. People rave about this spot, and we think it is worth a try.

Taj Indian Cuisine in Ashland

Indian food may be new to you. Not sure what to get? Try their all-you-can-eat buffet for reasonable prices and lots of options. The lunch buffet is from 11 – 3 pm and the evening one is 5 to 9 pm. We recommend their butter or Tandoori chicken. No matter what you choose from the buffet or menu, take in the aromatic spices that will have your head swirling and your tummy full.

Noho’s Hawaiian Café in Medford

This establishment has two locations – one in Medford and the other in Portland. You might have to skip the macaroni salad or sticky rice, but the portions of teriyaki chicken and beef are so filling that you will not miss them. They also do parties and catering too in case you need to have a great Keto event at home or at the office.

Porter’s Dining at the Depot in Medford

Porter’s is named after, and dedicated to, passenger trains and their hard workers. It has lots of history, but the menu choices will get your engines fired up. Start out with crab cakes or Thai lettuce wraps. Then, pacific Halibut Parmesan or a Maine Lobster Tail.

Porter’s…this steakhouse has more than steak and a menu chockfull of higher protein options that are delicious. Finish off your meal with a Classic Crème Brulee. OK, so the dessert is not exactly healthy fat, but you can always do some locomotion after to burn it off!
