MEGHAN MARKLE HAS REPORTEDLY ALREADY SIGNED A DEAL WITH DISNEY

Back to some Hollywood work soon is the rumor. As Britain, Queen Elizabeth and the Royal Family continue to reel from the shock of Prince Harry and Meghan disengaging from royal duties, Meghan had already secured a part-time gig. Deadline reports the Duchess agreed to provide voiceover work to an unspecified future Disney project in exchange for a donation to the charity organization, Elephants Without Borders.

HARRY AND MEGHAN PLANNING A TELL-ALL INTERVIEW WITH GAYLE KING? 

The Duke and Duchess of York are apparently planning a tell-all interview. Page Six is reporting that Meghan’s friend, TV host Gayle King, is the front runner for the interview. Gayle King attended Meghan’s New York City baby shower and also visited them after the birth of baby Archie.

SILENCE OF THE LAMBS SEQUEL SERIES IN THE WORKS _ A Silence of the Lambs TV series is in the works for CBS. The series will be set one year after the events of The Silence of the Lambs in 1993, as she returns to the FBI field “to pursue serial murderers and sexual predators while navigating the high stakes political world of Washington, D.C.”

… Jodie Foster won an Oscar for her role as Clarice Sterling in the 1991 film that was based on the 1988 novel of the same name. The Hannibal Lecter character is not expected to be part of the series.

SURVIVOR TO AIR AN ANNIVERSARY RETROSPECTIVE SPECIAL _ Survivor will air an anniversary retrospective. Survivor at 40: Greatest Moments and Players, airing February 5, will feature new interviews with players from the past 20 years. It will air one week before Survivor: Winners at War kicks off on February 12.

FOX PROMOS URGE SUPER BOWL VIEWERS TO CALL IN SICK ON SUPER MONDAY _ Some believe the Monday after the Super Bowl should be a national holiday — to celebrate and honor the champion of America’s favorite sport, and to recover from a beer, chips and guacamole hangover. Fox TV seems to agree.

… Fox, which is carrying this year’s Super Bowl, is running tongue-in-cheek promos for “Super Monday.” It features Fox stars telling viewers why they should take the day after the Super Bowl off.

NBC’S PEACOCK CONSIDERING QUANTUM LEAP REVIVAL _ NBC’s upcoming streaming service The Peacock will feature revivals of classic NBC sitcoms Punky Brewster and Saved By the Bell — and is considering a reboot of the ’90s time travel series Quantum Leap.

… Quantum Leap starred Scott Bakula as Dr. Sam Beckett, a scientist who invented time travel. Every week he would leap into someone from the past to correct a wrong that occurred in history. It ran from 1989 to 1993.

MICHAEL J FOX TO REPRISE HIS GOOD WIFE ROLE ON CBS ALL ACCESS’S THE GOOD FIGHT _ Michael J. Fox will reprise his Good Wife role for the upcoming fourth season of its CBS All Access spinoff series, The Good Fight. Fox played attorney Louis Canning in 26 episodes of The Good Wife, which ran for seven seasons.

STAR TREK: PICARD RENEWED FOR SEASON 2 _ Star Trek: Picard won’t debut until Thursday, January 23, but CBS All Access has already renewed it.

… In Picard, Patrick Stewart reprises his role as the beloved captain Jean-Luc Picard. The series is set 20 years after the events of Star Trek: Next Generation’s series finale. In that time, a catastrophic event sent Picard into seclusion on his family’s winery, far away from the USS Enterprise.

AMY POEHLER AND TINA FEY WILL RETURN AS GOLDEN GLOBES HOSTS IN 2021 _ At the Golden Globes last weekend, host Ricky Gervais kept talking about how this was the last time he would be on stage for the awards ceremony, and he didn’t care about it at all. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has taken him at his word, and next year they’ll bring back two talents who have proven to be much more beloved in their hosting duties. The Saturday Night Live dynamic duo of Amy Poehler and Tina Fey will be returning to host the 78th Golden Globes for the 2021 ceremony. The two previously hosted together in 2013, 2014 and 2015.

CBS ALL ACCESS IS DEBUTING NEW VERSIONS OF MR. MAGOO, LASSIE, AND GEORGE OF THE JUNGLE _ CBS All Access has announced three new original children’s series. Beginning Friday (January 17) subscribers will be able to stream all-new editions of Lassie, George of the Jungle and Mr. Magoo.

DINA LOHAN ARRESTED FOR DWI _ On Saturday night, 57-year-old Dina Lohan was arrested after she allegedly hit a car and left the scene. Lindsay Lohan’s mom was leaving an Outback Steakhouse restaurant parking lot in her Mercedes when she allegedly hit the car. However, she didn’t wait at the scene, but rather reportedly fled. The occupant of the vehicle that Lohan allegedly hit reportedly followed Dina to her home on Long Island. When police arrived on scene, Dina would not take a drug/alcohol test. According to a report, cops “observed clear signs of intoxication.” Dina was then arrested for DWI along with “leaving the scene of an accident and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.”

THERE ARE OVER 530 TV SHOWS 
According to an annual report, 532 scripted original TV shows aired on networks, cable and streaming services last year. That’s a 7 percent jump from 2018.

… Given that the streaming wars are now at hand, that total will increase substantially this year.

MOST YOUNG PEOPLE SHARE STREAMING PASSWORDS 
Most streaming services turn a somewhat blind eye to password sharing. A new report though shows just how widespread the issue is. The study (Hub Entertainment Research) found that a whopping 80 percent of people age 13 to 24 have shared a password for a streaming services. That number drops dramatically in the 35 and older group, where only 16 percent have shared a password.

… Naturally, the most popular streaming service, Netflix, is the most commonly shared password. Just over 55 percent of 13- to 24-year-olds admit to mooching off another Netflix account or letting someone use theirs. The brand new Disney+ service claimed the second spot though, with 31 percent of that same age group sharing logins. Hulu brought up the third spot.

MEGHAN MARKLE HAS BEEN INVITED TO JOIN REAL HOUSEWIVES OF BEVERLY HILLS 
After the Megxit announcement on Instagram Wednesday, Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen invited Meghan Markle to join Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Cohen, an executive producer of the Real Housewives franchise, wrote, “Open invite for The Duchess to join #RHOBH!”

MARK-PAUL GOSSELAAR JOINS SAVED BY THE BELL REBOOT 
Zack Morris is returning to Bayside High. Mark-Paul Gosselaar has closed a deal to join the new streaming series on NBC’s Peacock. His co-star, Tiffani Thiessen is also in talks to appear on the show, though her deal has not yet closed.

HARLEY QUINN DUMPS JOKER FOR THE BIRDS OF PREY IN NEW TRAILER 
A recent interview, Birds of Prey star Margot Robbie confirmed the Joker won’t be appearing in her Harley Quinn superhero movie this year. The latest trailer for Robbie’s film shows what happens after she and the Joker break up — and what happens when she calls on a new gang of friends for help. The film will hit theaters on February 7.

QUENTIN TARANTINO SAYS HE OWES HIS CAREER TO THE GOLDEN GIRLS Quentin Tarantino wants to thank Blanche, Dorothy, Rose and Sophia for being a friend.  The director was once an aspiring actor who landed a gig as an Elvis impersonator on The Golden Girls, which ran from 1985 to 1992.

… Tarantino said, “It became a two-part Golden Girls. So I got paid residuals for both parts. It was so popular they put it on a Best of The Golden Girls, and I got residuals every time that showed. So I got paid maybe, I don’t know, $650 for the episode, but by the time the residuals were over, three years later, I made like $3,000. And that kept me going during our pre-production time trying to get Reservoir Dogs going.”

DISNEY REPORTEDLY WANTS TO REMAKE THE BLACK HOLE 
While all of our attention might currently be focused on Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Disney reportedly has its eyes on rebooting another one of its intergalactic features. According to sources, the studio is planning on remaking The Black Hole.

… The 1979 space movie was the first by Disney to receive a PG rating.

FX RENEWS AMERICAN HORROR STORY FOR THREE MORE SEASONS 
FX has renewed the Ryan Murphy horror anthology series American Horror Story for seasons 11, 12 and 13.

BROOKLYN NINE-NINE’S EPIC TRAILER FOR SEASON 7 
Brooklyn Nine-Nine returns for Season 7 on February 6 on NBC, and it looks like our favorite precinct is getting into even bigger and badder shenanigans this year.
