Gilligan’s Island, Irish Car Bomb, and Lemon Dream. What do these have in common? They are Birthday cake choices at Delish Bakery in Medford.
This sweet storefront located in the Tinsletown complex offers croissants, macarons, quiche, and twelve unique cake flavors to satisfy almost any Birthday cake craving. All flavors come in six, eight, ten or twelve inches feeding from a minimum of 8 to 12 people all the way up to 40 to 50 guests (or feeding 10 people 4 to 5 slices each!) But there are more goodies for birthdays too!
For my belated Birthday celebration, I went for a slice of the California quiche (bacon, cheddar cheese, and green onions) and a chocolate croissant along with a Vanilla Latte to wash it all down. The quiche had a delightful buttery crust and was like smooth velvet for the tongue. When I bit into it, everything melted and flaked in my mouth exactly as it should.
Do not even get me started on the croissant! Rich chocolate and buttery pastry galore, for sure! There was no shortage of chocolate which makes it divine and what you hope for when ordering croissants.
You will find indoor and outdoor seating at this establishment, and it was encouraging to see multiple masked patrons partake of the freshly-baked offerings. Owner, Susan Prunty, hopes that we all: “Take a moment to savor life,” which is particularly poetic in our current climate. Her philosophy goes like this: “Delish is dedicated to making quality goods that taste as good as they look. We use the finest ingredients to create memorable treats you can’t find anywhere else in the Rogue Valley.”
She is a woman after my own heart (and appetite for life) as they say. Susan states, “Our mission is to help create a strong community starts by bringing people together. With laughter, kindness, and a great piece of cake we work to strengthen our neighborhoods by getting to know each other.” Amen to that!
