“Huff n’ Puff Before You Stuff”, in our great Southern Oregon Outdoors!

Take a hike- If you want a moderate hike to get the metabolism revved up before stuffing your face with mashed potatoes, turkey, ham and pecan pie, try either Roxy Ann Peak Trail or for a more challenging pre-holiday exercise session, consider Wagner Creek. See more information below.

Roxy Ann Peak Trail

This is a moderate trail that is about 4.9 miles in length. It is a heavily trafficked loop trail located near Medford. The trail offers equestrian trails and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be leashed. From the top, there are panoramic views of the entire valley with Medford as your centerpiece. Stay on the trail if you want to avoid the abundance of poison oak.

Wagner Butte

This is a tougher 11-mile trail considered hard by most travelers. It is lightly trafficked and located near Talent, Oregon. The trail features wildflowers and wildlife and is primarily used for hiking, trail running, nature trips, and birding. It is ideal to hike on it March through October., but with the mild weather this season it is still doable. Dogs are also able to use this trail. Be prepared to get sweaty during the uphill climb, but the views are worth every grueling step you take. There is a parking lot on the right-hand side of the road, but the trailhead is actually on the left-hand side as you come up the road from Talent.
