Jackson County Library Hosts Free Performances of “Scrooge” and “Peter Pan”

Jackson County Library Services (JCLS) will host three special productions by the Portland-based Traveling Lantern Theatre Company this December, including “Peter Pan” and “The Story of Ebenezer Scrooge, or A Christmas Carol.”

During two performances of “Peter Pan,” the audience is invited to fly away with the Darling children to Neverland, where Peter battles with a band of pirates and his archenemy: the villainous Captain Hook.

Monday, December 2 from 10:00–11:00 a.m.

Ashpole Community Center in Eagle Point, 17 S. Buchanan St.

Saturday, December 7 from 1:00–2:00 p.m.

Medford Library, 205 South Central Avenue.

“The Story of Ebenezer Scrooge, or A Christmas Carol,” tells the story of a nasty, mean, snarling old geezer with no care for anything other than his money. His one and only friend visits him as a ghost and starts him on a journey that melts his icy heart and teaches him the joys of caring for and giving to others.

Monday, December 2 from 3:00–4:00 p.m.

Rogue River Library, 412 East Main Street.

Traveling Lantern has been educating and entertaining children all over the country since

1985. Their mission is to bring great stories to children, draw them into an active theater experience, excite their minds, and tickle their imaginations.
